We’ll be at the Cheltenham Science Festival on Saturday 11th June. As well as having members of the team on hand to talk about the project, we’ll be asking looking for volunteers to take part in an ongoing experiment. This will give us an valuable new dataset for the project.

What Does Consciousness Do For Us?
11 June, all day
Over 18s only
Can unconscious stimuli control behaviour? In what way? Take part in research by the Institute of Philosophy exploring the difference consciousness makes to the calculations going on in our heads.
In pioneering work across disciplines, scientists and philosophers are collaborating on an AHRC Science in Culture research project on ‘Meaning for the Brain and Meaning for the Person’. They will be on hand to tell you how they are researching consciousness and why it is important to discover what consciousness does for us. You provide the data, they’ll explain its significance.
