Daniel Dennett is a pioneering philosopher and cognitive scientist whose work encompasses all of the project’s themes and much more besides. Professor Dennett has a new book coming out next month that draws together all of his major philosophical views and presents them as a single interconnected package.
I’ll be taking part in a public debate with him next month on themes from the book: consciousness, artificial intelligence and the evolution of the mind. The brilliant team at Intelligence Squared have put together an interesting panel and are expecting an audience of nearly a thousand people, so it should be a lively evening. More details here.
